BUCHAREST AIRPORTS

Bucharest Henri Coandă Airport (OTP)
Bucharest’s main international airport, just 17 km from the city center, connects you to Europe and beyond. Convenient transport options include taxis, car rentals, and buses to get you quickly into the city.
Bucharest Băneasa – Aurel Vlaicu Airport (BBU)
Băneasa Airport is dedicated to short-haul European flights, served exclusively by Wizz Air and Ryanair. Its location close to the city center makes it a convenient choice for budget travelers coming from nearby European destinations.

Getting to the Venue from Bucharest Airport (OTP)
Travel Time: 20–50 minutes depending on traffic.
By Taxi or Ride-Share: Taxis, Uber, and Bolt typically cost €8–14.

PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION
The best part? You don't need to buy a ticket in advance!
Bucharest's public transportation system offers contactless payments, so you can use your credit or debit card to pay for your ride.
-
Buses & Trams: Simply tap your contactless credit or debit card on the payment validator when you board.
-
Metro: Tap your card at the designated contactless payment gate to enter the station.
-
Apple Pay & Google Pay: Mobile contactless payments are also supported at compatible validators.
No need to figure out ticket machines, carry Romanian cash, or download an app just to catch a ride!

Buses & Trams
Bucharest's extensive bus and tram network covers most of the city, including areas around hotels, restaurants, tourist attractions, and EuroHash party venues.
Finding Your Bus Stop
One thing to know about Bucharest: bus stops aren't always easy to spot!
Unlike the large bus stop signs you might be used to, many stops in Bucharest are marked by small signs mounted on poles. They can be surprisingly easy to miss, especially if you're expecting a big sign or a bus shelter.
Not every stop has a shelter or seating, so keep your eyes open! Google Maps and the Info TB app can help you find the correct stop.
Tip: If Google Maps says you're at the bus stop but you can't see it, look around for a small sign. You're probably closer than you think!

Metro
Bucharest's metro is often the fastest way to travel longer distances, especially during rush hour.
It connects major areas of the city and avoids Bucharest's sometimes legendary traffic.
Important: The metro and buses/trams use separate ticketing systems. Tapping your card on one does not automatically cover travel on the other.
BOLT & UBER
Both Bolt and Uber operate throughout Bucharest and are convenient, generally affordable alternatives to public transportation.
Simply download the app, enter your destination, and request a ride.
Payment is handled through the app, so there's no need to carry cash.

E-Scooters
You'll find electric scooters from Bolt and other scooter-sharing companies available for rent throughout Bucharest. They're a convenient way to explore the city or cover shorter distances.
Simply download the company's app to locate an available scooter, unlock it, and pay for your ride.
Be sure to follow local traffic rules, use designated cycling infrastructure where required, and park responsibly.
Important: Riding an e-scooter under the influence of alcohol is prohibited in Romania.

CAR RENTAL
Planning to explore Romania beyond Bucharest? Renting a car is a great way to see more of the country!
Important information about driver's licenses:
-
EU/EEA driver's licenses: Generally accepted without an International Driving Permit (IDP).
-
Non-EU/EEA driver's licenses: Even if your license is legally recognized in Romania, many rental car companies still require an International Driving Permit (IDP) in addition to your original driver's license.
Our recommendation: If you're visiting from outside the EU/EEA and plan to rent a car, obtain an IDP before leaving home. Check your rental company's requirements before booking to avoid any unpleasant surprises at the rental counter.
Remember, an IDP does not replace your regular driver's license. You must carry both.
We highly recommend NOT renting a car while staying in Bucharest. Traffic can be heavy, driving can be challenging, and parking is often difficult to find. With affordable public transportation, Bolt, and Uber readily available, there's really no need for a car during EuroHash.
Save yourself the stress, skip the rental car, and spend more time enjoying Bucharest (and the beer)!
If you're planning to explore other parts of Romania before or after EuroHash, that's when renting a car may be worth considering.
⚠️ Drinking & Driving – Zero Tolerance!
Romania has a zero-tolerance policy for drinking and driving.
This applies to driving a car, and riding an electric scooter under the influence of alcohol is also prohibited.
Even a small amount of alcohol can lead to legal consequences, including fines, license suspension, or more serious penalties.
We know we're a drinking club with a running problem, but please leave the driving and scooting to the sober people!
If you've been drinking, walk, take public transportation, or call a Bolt or Uber.
A Little Hash-Friendly Advice
Bucharest traffic can be an adventure, but getting around doesn't have to be.
Save your money for beer, skip the hassle of driving, and let someone else handle the traffic.

Travelers who already have a valid visa do not need an ETIAS.

Stay Limit
Tourist stays are limited to 90 days within any 180-day period, across all Schengen countries.

-
Visitors from visa-exempt countries may enter Romania for tourism without a visa, but starting Fall 2026 they must obtain an ETIAS.
